A special digital-only episode called “Gateway to Shark Tank India 2” will air as a grand finale to the season on Shark Tank India. It will provide a second opportunity for a limited group of aspiring entrepreneurs to pitch their business concepts to famous entrepreneurs, also referred to as “sharks”.
Vikas D Nahar, the founder and CEO of Happilo, will appear on the panel as a “guest shark” whereas Peyush Bansal (Lenskart) and Anupam Mittal (Shaadi.com) will skip the event.
Who is Vikas D. Nahar?
Vikas D. Nahar is the founder and CEO of Happilo, a market leader in the dry-fruit and nuts category. His well-known company sells nutritious snack foods. Vikas comes from a family, who devotes their entire time to farming coffee and peppers which cultivated a natural propensity towards entrepreneurship. He started working for the Jain Group after earning his Bachelor of Computer Application degree from Bangalore University in 2005. Nahar pursued his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCHMRD), Pune. In 2017, he founded his business with barely Rs 10,000 because he has a natural aptitude for creating brands.
According to reports, Happilo is an industry leader with a revenue run-rate of Rs 500 crore. Today, the business is well-established in both retail outlets and e-commerce across the nation. Nahar has also won the Times 40 under 40.
The businessman discussed getting turned down 20 times before ultimately succeeding in his debut video. He emphasised the value of giving it a shot and always trusting one’s gut. He said, “I always listen to my heart”, saying that he hoped the special episode will encourage more people to keep trying because there is always a chance around the corner.
