Being a serial entrepreneur and a philanthropist, the social sports industry/business was quite new or rather unexpected when first heard from my son Varun Gururaja (Founder of SportiWe). It took a while to understand the business model for me. However, I could sense what Varun was trying to solve which is a global challenge even today.
Back in the day, we were never shying away from meeting new people especially on a sport. But now, things have changed with the use of technology. As a founding trustee in a leading healthcare trust, I am certain that this can cause a huge problem for the world in the near future.
SportiWe, as its baby step; has launched its foundation application available to download on Google Play and App Store for free where users can connect with like-minded sporting enthusiasts around them and also stay engaged to their favorite sport through social feeder. The application’s social feeder allows you to share content/photos to relevant sporting audience and make you social sports influencer.
Apart from me, the company’s early believers Amey Dalvi, Nalini Gururaja, Santhosh Gowda & Dr. Suresh Yellapa has bought the dream to where it is now.
The application has over 20K+ active users and over 100 new sport connections are made on a daily basis. SportiWe’s vision is to on-board over 1 Million users by end of the year and create an online community, exclusively for sports.
