Hey guys,
I am Sahitya Sikhar Ghosh, an upcoming author. I was born in a beautiful city that houses the capital of Assam. Yes, you guessed it right! I Hali from the beautiful city of Guwahati. My family consists of my parents and my younger sibling, my brother. My parents hail from the dreamy cities of Dibrugarh and North Lakhimpur, yet I have always been Guwahati’s boy. My father is a businessman: my mother, a homemaker and my younger brother, a karate black belt player.
I have completed my 10th and 12th standard from the prestigious Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Guwahati, and have graduated as a first class Mechanical Engineer from Tezpur Central University. I would surely say that life was at its best in this phase, with successes, friends and mental health, all being at its peak. Additionally, I earned several accolades in my school and I was a part of the prestigious Tezpur University Students Council (TUSC) as a Literary Conveynor.
I absolutely love music, with guitar being the instrument of my choice. I am a hard-core Metalhead, with bands like Scorpions, Steelheart, Breaking Benjamin and Sabaton donning my Spotify playlist. I also enjoy writing classical poetry, and rediscovering forgotten poetic styles like Sonnet and Rondeau. However, my seemingly unique set of interests and hobbies make me a singleton in society. Being an introvert though, comes with its own benefits and we tend to enjoy a smaller but much stronger circle of friends. My biggest supports and motivators apart from my family, are the greatest friends I could have asked for – Samudra Jyoti Kashyap, Shubhangi Goswami and the co-author of my recent book Mehvish Sayyad.
Life was never easy going for me, and being the eldest son in a generation brings with it loads of responsibilities. But, there isn’t a single moment which I can pinpoint as the lowest in my life, as all of it brings unique challenges, and the quirk of life is to adapt and develop yourself with every passing day. I mean, that’s the fun of life, isn’t it? I have always been grateful for my life though, as it has always been fair in rewarding my work. I might have hit rock-bottom a lot of times, but when I topped my state in English during my 12tg Standard Board examinations, or when I won the elections for Literary Convenor in my University, I was elated and excited, and I have always believed that in the journey we call life, ups and downs, successes and failures are part of the package, and we need to accept and grow with it.
Professionally, I am working with Tata Consultancy Services, and I am working for a life where I am able to contribute enough to the society and bring a positive change, and hopefully touching lives and inspiring them as we go. Writing has always been the best way to fulfil this dream of mine, and I have focused of making my dream a reality, one step at a time, since 2014.
My most recent book, “Silence of the Dearest” has been recently launched on all online stores across India. It is a beautiful story of love, retribution, realisations and acceptance, with me and my great friend Mehvish Sayyad as co-authors. We hope you shall enjoy every bit of our book, and that we are able to touch your lives for the better.
