In 2012, Atul started making music from his laptop and a small bedroom setup. Since then, he has come a long way. He is now the owner of Nagpur based Music and Video production house Young Homie Studio, helping local artists to feature their talents through online mediums. He has personally released two Music albums named “my best days were with her” and “soul”. Atul was featured in popular online music magazine The Rolling Stone India and landed on top Editorial playlists on Spotify, crossing over 4 Lakh+ streams independently. He also owns the ‘Young Homie Productions’ production house, which consistently uploads music videos on their YouTube channel.
Learning music production and mixing
Atul has been self-learning music production since he was twelve years old and is consistently improving his quality with every track. When his original song “Be with Me” landed on Spotify Editorials, he was highly motivated to pursue music and music production as a full-time career option. Finally, at the age of 18, after convincing his parents to do full-time music production, he dropped out of college and started his studio in the city. Since then, he has been releasing original music and supporting local artists.
Q. You are growing in popularity now. Who do you look up to?
I am massively influenced and inspired by international artists such as John Mayer, Bob Dillon and Guns and roses. Their contributions to the music are outstanding. They are a reason why I took up my career in music. In Bollywood, Amit Trivedi is someone I look up to. He is also someone from whom I am inspired.
Q. Tell us something about your new song?
My new release, ‘Every Time I’m Falling’, is a song about mental health, and the video portrays the character being stuck and trying to break free. The music of this release is cinematic. The whole production supports the vibe of being stuck somewhere. I’m keen to deliver my mental health message to listeners and viewers, and I hope more people like this release.
Creating Melodies at an Early Age
With so many accomplishments at an early age, Atul inspires youth to start producing music from minimal gear, follow cost-cutting methods and invest in skills. He has also been teaching production, mixing to those interested to pursue music. He is listening to various artists and has been inspired by western culture. He frequently changes his style so that the audience always gets something new and is also personally fond of trying different genres and styles. He is not afraid to try something new. He has produced and sang Bollywood, soft rock, alternative, hip-hop, RnB and every genre you can think of.
He has released his new track – Every Time I’m Falling, with a fantastic Music Video.
