The 18-time national basketball player and 4-time national basketball captain, Danveer Singh Bhati is empowering the youth of India with quality sports. President of Eklavya Society and the Rajasthan men’s team captain has also been awarded Rajasthan’s Best Player by the Sports Minister for his inspiring career. He won the award while he was in Rajasthan Junior Under 19 basketball team back in 2004. He has represented Rajasthan several times since then. He has led the fight for justice in sports with his incredibly insightful initiatives.
Danveer Singh Bhati is a phenomenal Basketball player that got selected in the School India Camp. He has participated in several national basketball competitions such as Junior National, Senior National, School National, and All India University as well.
He has completed his education at the most prestigious institution in Rajasthan. He received education from Ganganagar district till class 4, from Bikaner till class 12, and his graduation and post-graduation degree in Political Science from the Rajasthan University. His goal in life is to work for the sports sector and become a renowned name in sports politics.
The national gold medalist and bronze medalist has been working through, “Eklavaya Society” to bring to light issues faced by public through speaking up with a slightly accurate political angle against the Government.
The famous Rajasthani basketball player aims to make a difference for all the future sports players in Rajasthan. His organization, “Eklavaya Society” helps the youth of Rajasthan with significant sports education and other necessities to the poor people as well as sportsperson. The “Eklavaya Society” also hosts several tournaments in Jaipur and Rajasthan.
Over the years, Eklavaya Society’s Maharana Pratap Tournament has become a well-recognized and also Rajasthan’s best tournament for basketball. 3 editions of the famous Maharana Pratap Tournament have been successfully run in Rajasthan so far and more than 12 small tournaments have been hosted by his NGO. The best part about this fascinating and rewarding basketball tournament is that all traveling, accommodation and food is provided by the society to all the players of the tournament. And that too, free of cost.
During COVID-19, he initiated a campaign in association with Eklavya Society where more than 200 Basketball players in Rajasthan came together and made a self vaccination donation in the CM relief fund, and Basketball was the first and only sports where such initiative turned out to be a huge success and were appreciated by Ashok Chandana(Sports minister of Rajasthan)
The pioneer Indian basketball player, Danveer Singh Bhati, has always been determined to work hard. He has taken all sports-related issues in his state very seriously. Be it ground issues or sportsman-related issues, he is focused on improving the status of the sports sector and the sports facilities in the state of Rajasthan. Every academic year he takes care of the education of players. Many players get free admission in various schools and colleges under his guidance so that the balance between education and sports can be maintained.
Some groundbreaking initiatives that have borne fruits to date include his raised concerns helped remove the caste section from the tournament form held by Anita Badhel, the Women and Child Development Minister, Government of Rajasthan. His voice to change the burnt basketball court matting of the SMS Outdoor Stadium, Jaipur got the stadium ready in a matter of 10-15 days. And his active fights with the Government against several prevalent issues in one and only residential sports school i.e. Shardul Sports School, Bikaner, Rajasthan is also paying off positively one by one. Recently, a fund of 50 lakh INR was allocated to Shardul Sports School to renovate the gym, mess and RO facilities.
From carrying out numerous sting operations to getting ground made in Dr. Karni Singh stadium, Bikaner after 20 years and getting money passed by the government for their incomplete ventures, Danveer Singh Bhati is the only one to raise the voice against the same in the last 20 years. The strong-headed lone fighter has never turned back from raising his voice against the ministry of Rajasthan for the right thing in sports democracy.
