I don’t know how many lives I inspired or not, but I want every little girl who’s been told she’s bossy to be told again she has leadership skills. I have run three successful businesses even though I have not taken it as a large-scale business and stepped into 4th one. I have learnt from the first itself that it’s a major responsibility on your shoulder to practice the behaviour you want others to follow. It took me quite a while to develop a voice, and now that I have it, I am not going to be silent. When I dare to be powerful, to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less important whether I’m afraid. Making the decision not to follow a system or someone else’s rules has allowed me to really dig into what my own strengths and gifts are without spending time feeling jaded or wasteful. Believe in, ‘ No matter what, expect the unexpected. And whenever possible, BE the unexpected.
With great thought and courage stepped into the fashion industry, which is vast, and to add on, two years of Covid. I was lucky enough to have done events before 2020, and at the beginning of 2020 and then following the trend, we did a lot of different events online to keep us updated with the changing systems. Our unflinching, deep-rooted belief in our cause of providing a platform to the passionate with no discrimination kept us going, and today we are proud that in the last 3 and 1/2 years of our company’s formation, we have done offline and online fashion shows, music shows, dance events successfully.
FashionflameZ is now a brand known in South India for its authenticity and dedication to keeping the promises given to clients. We may not be among the big giants who have been in the industry for quite some time, but sure we have created a name, and now it’s a Brand. As you asked me, how do you start a business and you don’t feel the need to upscale it?
By choosing to fight against the odds and shattering the stereotypes, and just trying to falsifying the typical myths that hover around what a woman can’t do. We have seen over the years that women want to experiment and go out of their comfort zone to experience something new. The first lesson I learned is that we should let our work speak for ourselves. I don’t want to be called a woman leader but an industry leader. I like to keep the focus just on my work. Secondly, the power of a woman helps and reaches out to another woman. Life fulfilling work is never about money. When you feel true passion for something, you instinctively find ways to nurture it. Surrounding yourself with trustworthy and loyal people with no double standards makes all the difference.
We just finished with an event with a theme that no one has ever thought of doing, “Fashion Era”, bringing in costumes of different centuries. Many told me this would be boring, we would not attract the crowd, and this will not create an impact like XYZ people in the industry. I just felt if you find yourself drawn to an idea for the event against all logic, Go. The universe is telling you something. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I only have to follow my heart and concentrate on what I want to say to the world. I run my world. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives: Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies: Succeed regardless. If you are honest and frank, people will try to cheat you: Be honest anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight: Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous of you: Be happy anyway. The good you do today will often be forgotten by tomorrow: Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough: Give your best anyway, As Mother Teresa quote.
