On Sep 1st 2020, Prakash Nedungadi, a man with 38 years of proven excellence in Corporate leadership, left it all behind to invest himself in public service through the political arena. A man of integrity, determination, creative spirit and compassion, Prakash has now joined the Aam Aadmi Party to bring about a change in his Ward, his city, the State and the country.
The approach of Aam Aadmi Party is different, based on integrity, constitutional values and a commitment to doing what people really want. The success of this approach has been proven in Delhi where AAP has governed for the last 6 years. Now, as the Party rapidly expands across the country, including Karnataka, Prakash feels it’s a perfect time to join and contribute his talent, experience and effort to the cause.
Prakash believes that Wards like Sampangiram Nagar, where he lives, and neighbouring Vasanth Nagar, have tremendous potential to turn into model Wards that can serve as an example of Governance at its best. However, due to lack of coordination, intent and corrupt leadership, Wards like these and so many others have hardly been developed at all. Over the past one year, he has worked tremendously in the ward and have made sure that he understands and creates a space for positive change in the ward.
Being an active member and a responsible leader during the COVID times, he came forward to provide a helping hand to the needy. He was constantly in touch with hundreds of people in the Ward and city, understanding their problems and coordinating action. Over the last year, he has been helping people by giving them COVID relief kits like oximeters, food kits, volunteering at BBMP vaccination centres and assisting them with getting Govt relief packages. He led the Aam Aadmi Party Covid response team and started the “Action Against Pandemic” Sahaaya helpline during the COVID second wave. The helpline assisted thousands of people in finding ICU beds, oxygen, Home Isolation Support and other medical facilities. During this process, he built up his name in the Ward.
On 17th October 2021, he opened the Ward office in the heart of Sampangiram Nagar. This office will be used for the purpose of impact creation and as a window for people to come and seek support. The inauguration was presided by Mr. Girish Kumar, Member, Kannada Development Authority, Mr. Romi Bhati, National Observer, AAP, Mr. Prithvi Reddy, President, AAP Karnataka, Shri HD Basavaraju, ex MLA and Mohan Dasari, President AAP Bengaluru
Prakash plans to let people come and engage through his new office, which he prefers to call a “center”. It will be a center for community involvement and service as well as for nation-building, he says. The center will also engage in various activities to serve the people like voter registration, pension for senior citizens, opportunities for physically challenged people and other services.
Prakash Nedungadi, with the skills from his previous corporate experience, believes that he could become an eminent politician. Great management sense, designing creative plans and executing them with excellence are examples of what he wants to bring to politics, combined with integrity and strong values. His vision and mission are to make the ward the BEST in India in terms of being a great place for EVERYONE to live, work and fulfil their potential and purpose.
