Anu Meena’s journey from a small village in Rajasthan to the founder and CEO of AGROWAVE is nothing short of inspiring. Born and raised in a humble family, Anu’s dreams soared high, and she was determined to do something big for her village and its people.
Despite completing her schooling from a government Hindi medium school in her village, Anu never let her circumstances hold her back. She went on to pursue her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, where she honed her skills and worked hard to achieve her goals.
Anu’s grandfather, a farmer, was her inspiration to start AGROWAVE. She observed the struggles her grandfather faced in his farming life, from logistics to pricing, and it stirred her to do something about it. Anu’s passion to help not only her grandfather but all farmers facing the same issues led to the inception of AGROWAVE in 2017.
AGROWAVE is an initiative that assists and encourages Indian farmers by cutting out the middleman and helping them get the best price for their produce. Anu’s program enables farmers to deliver fresh fruits and vegetables directly to retail shops, hostels, canteens, and caterers, ensuring they receive fair compensation for their hard work.
Anu’s program gained national and international recognition, including being listed in Forbes 30 under 30 Asia and named as one of India’s top ten innovators by India Today Magazine. She has also been a TEDx speaker and a speaker at numerous conferences, inspiring young entrepreneurs and guiding them towards success.
Anu’s journey is one of resilience, perseverance, and determination. She has become a mentor to many, helping them realize their dreams and achieve success. Her hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, as she was awarded the Global Gandhi Award in 2019 and recognized by the Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment for her public work.
Anu’s success did not come without challenges, and she had to overcome numerous obstacles along the way. However, she never gave up and persevered through difficult times, much like the idiom, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going.”

Anu’s vision and leadership have helped build a team of young entrepreneurs, including Payal Jawalkar and Arun Yadav, who have played an essential role in AGROWAVE’s success. Together, they have helped farmers earn a total of $3.7Mn in 2020, a remarkable achievement.
